"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber... The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

In the New Testament, John 3:1-7 records Nicodemus's nighttime visit to Jesus:
"Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.' Jesus replied, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again... You should not be surprised at my saying, "You must be born again."'"
Jesus Saves.
All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

John 3:16-17: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
Why did Jesus come? To save! As the old hymn thunders: "Jesus Saves"—rescuing the lost, healing the broken, lifting the depressed, remembering the forgotten. He reaches to the wealthy and powerful just as to the poor and marginalized. Another hymn assures us: "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so”.
We know this love not merely by fleeting feelings or personal experiences, but by faith—unshakable trust in God's promises. In hopeless situations, when you're collapsing under life's race, Jesus Saves. When you can only look up from the dust, Jesus Saves.
Jesus Himself hammered this home through miracles of faith. In Mark 5:34, to the woman hemorrhaging for 12 years: "Daughter, your faith has healed you." To blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:52: "Go... your faith has healed you." To the Roman centurion in Matthew 8:13: "Go! Let it be done just as you believed it for your servant." Faith unlocks salvation. Jesus Saves.
Today, let's deepen our grasp through four elements of faith that assure us Jesus Saves. These truths, rooted in Scripture, call us from passive belief to transformative living.
1. The Call to Obedience
In Genesis 12:1, God summoned Abram—later Abraham—leaving behind security, family, culture, and a prosperous life for an unknown land which demanded immediate obedience through faith. This unlocked unimaginable blessings: a great nation from barren loins, righteousness apart from works. Romans 4:3 declares: "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." Galatians 3:8-9 adds: "Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith... those who believed have received the blessing given to Abraham." Without Abraham's faith-obedience, the Jewish people, Jesus' lineage, and our salvation through Him would not exist.
God's call disrupts your comfort—quit that sin holding you back, forgive that wound poisoning your heart, serve that neighbor overlooked in your busyness. Obedience isn't optional; it's faith in action.

2. The Nature of Faith
Hebrews 11:1 defines it: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Abraham trusted God's unseen promises."For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast"). Without faith, we cannot please God. Prayer laced with doubt mocks His power.
Like Noah building an ark amid ridicule for 120 years—no rain in sight, neighbors mocking his "foolishness"—or Moses choosing affliction with God's people over Egyptian luxury, enduring the desert because he saw the invisible reward.
In Tyler Moon's race, bystanders trusted their training and stepped up—faith in action amid crisis, forming that human chain without hesitation. Having grasped faith's essence, we now turn to its ultimate promise.

3. The Promise of Salvation
From Old Testament shadows—lamb sacrifices for atonement—to Christ's perfect fulfillment on Calvary , salvation is gifted to believers. John 3:16 promises eternal life; Acts 16:31 echoes: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." Romans 10:9 seals it: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." It's for whosoever—Jew, Gentile, rich, poor—assured by faith alone.
REPEAT after me: "Genuine faith produces obedience in daily life."
4. Living Out Our Faith
James 2:17, 26 warns: "Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead... As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."
Jesus taught: "By their fruit you will recognize them... A good tree cannot bear bad fruit". Works don't save but vindicate living faith, bold actions with God’s mercy.
REPEAT after me: "Faith without works is dead."
Brothers and sisters, like Tyler Moon collapsing yet rising, Jesus Saves through faith's obedience, nature, promise, and deeds. In life's race, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. If you're weary, cry out—He Saves! If unsaved, believe today. Jesus Saves! Go, and live it.
What does Easter mean to you? For us Christians it’s the empty tomb that means our salvation and hope, where as the cross, that we recognize deliberately, is the means it took for an atonement for all our sins--the process of reconciling sinners with a holy God, covering or removing the barrier of sin through sacrifice to restore broken relationships. I am saved by the Lord's wondrous grace
in love, Jesus died, taking my place,
It is not my works that set me fully free
but rather it is all that Jesus did for me.
The works that I do, will not save me
sin's debt was paid on Calvary,
In love He chose to suffer and die in my place
It's not work that saves me, but His amazing grace.
Works cannot open salvation's door
That is what Jesus Christ's death was for,
If works are to save me, perfect I must now be
only a perfect sacrifice can set me free.
Works are not the means to salvation
works won't save me from condemnation,
Only the blood of Jesus shed freely for me
can purge away my sin leading to victory.
After I trust in Jesus I know
my love for Him by obedience I show,
After I am saved, the love of Jesus compels me
to serve My Lord Jesus in obedience faithfully.
My works help me gain heavenly award
through my obedience to my loving Lord,
This deeply kindles in me my heart's deep desire
to be counted faithful in the day that tries by fire.
The Lord's wondrous grace truly saves me
through faith and grace from sin's debt set free,
My works showing obedience to God on life's way
as in love I serve Him faithfully day by day.
